With steamy and immersive contemporary portraiture in Limpiezas (cleansings), GisMo draws attention to the contrast between Nature and the modern world. Envisaging the response to an abrupt absence of technology as positive and rejuvenating, the images offer seductive visions of feral humanity and transformation.</description>

			<description>Charles Lieberman. From Nov 22nd, 2008 through Jan 18th, 2009.  Charles Biederman: An American Idealist is a touring exhibition organized by the Frederick Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota, on view at the Lowe Art Museum through January 18th, 2009. The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of the life and work of Charles Biederman, an acclaimed American modernist, who pioneered new directions in geometric abstract art and in the Constructivist movement. The exhibition features a broad array of paintings and sculptures created during a prolific and influential artistic career. It includes early American-scene inspired oils, biomorphic abstractions, early wood and string constructions from the 1930s, and finally Biederman&amp;rsquo;s late metal reliefs. Fifty-three works in all complete the show. A new catalogue accompanies the exhibition.</description>

From Sep 25th, 2008 through Jan 25th, 2009   Plotted on a pattern of five crosses, with two avenues creating the main cross, the Crist&amp;oacute;bal Col&amp;oacute;n Cemetery in the Vedado district of Havana, Cuba is considered one of the finest examples of funerary architecture in the world. Miami architect Ra&amp;uacute;l L. Rodr&amp;iacute;guez, AIA has been documenting its quiet grandeur since 1990. Through January 25th, 2009, visitors to the Historical Museum of Southern Florida will have the opportunity to see images of the historic cemetery in the exhibition, Necr&amp;oacute;polis Crist&amp;oacute;bal Col&amp;oacute;n: Photographs by Raul L. Rodriguez, AIA.</description>

The exhibition, which takes French author Michel Houellebecq&amp;rsquo;s 2005 novel of the same name as its starting point, poses existential questions in the face of an elusive future. Both the exhibition and novel address fundamental anxieties about issues such as aging, death, irrelevancy, culture, destruction and sexuality in the present and the future. </description>
