Celebrated native Miami artist, Hernan Bas is exhibiting his piece “A Traveler” in the Louis Vuitton’s Aventura location. “A Traveler” is an original sculptural piece exploring Louis Vuitton’s legacy of the art of travel; a theme synonymous with the Maison’s heritage, tradition and creative spirit.
Using his own artistic expression to interpret the notion of travel and personal exploration, Bas created a sculpture of assorted bindles, created from Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram canvas, borne on long birch branches. Bas also produced an original Louis Vuitton-inspired film to correspond to the sculptural elements. This video installation features a softly focused color film of a nomadic character carrying his bindle through a forest setting; imbued with the sentimental feel of a transcendentalist’s poem.
