Meet writer, artist, musician Patti Smith at Books & Books

Jan 8, 2012. 4:00 p.m.

Patti Smith will be at Books & Books Coral Gables on January 8th for an exclusive afternoon autographing session of her books, including her newest childhood memoir, Woolgathering.

Her seminal album, Horses, was followed by eleven releases. Her photography and artwork have been exhibited internationally. On July 10, 2005, she received the Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. In 2008, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2010 was given a Lifetime Achievement Award from ASCAP. Her #1 New York Times Bestseller Just Kids was awarded the 2010 National Book Award for non-fiction.

Patti won't be giving a talk, but instead she'll concentrate on meeting her fans and signing copies of their books. She's told Books & Books she'll "sign anything" in typical Patti fashion and with Patti largesse. So, they have ordered a selection that includes her treasure box of a memoir, Woolgathering as well as her National Book Award-winning, Just Kids and many others.
