Herzog and de Meuron's Miami Art Museum
Plaza Level Gallery. From Dec 1st, 2007 through Apr 6th, 2008.

Miami Art Museum. Miami MuseumsWork in Progress: Herzog and de Meuron's Miami Art Museum offers an exciting glimpse into the award-winning architects’ still-evolving design for the new Miami Art Museum. Enjoy an insider’s access through the exhibition’s large-scale wallpaper murals, architectural models, floor plans, video projections and stereoscopic devices, and see how one of the world’s most renowned architectural firms translates its ideas into form and space.

The exhibition and its associated programs give the public opportunities to “look over the architects’ shoulders” at a relatively early stage in the design’s development. By bringing the public in on the project at an early stage, MAM and Herzog and de Meuron invite the community to participate in this important step in Miami’s cultural development. The new MAM’s integration with the park, its sustainable energy program and “green” features, its soaring canopy and the welcoming environment it creates for the local community will certainly make the new MAM a true symbol of Miami in the 21st century.
