| Gallery Diet presents Rachel Is... |
From Feb 12th through Mar 6th, 2010. Rachel Perry Welty gathers the detritus of our complex social order, dismembering and reassembling it to create works of sculpture, video, photography, and drawing.
The constant bombardment of imagery in our daily lives makes for a great loss of the self, a certain sense of disorder within ones own life, there are no boundaries between what we see, feel, and sense, and that which we are actually comprised of. A unifying constant irregularity that Rachel manipulates into neatly compartmentalized and ordered works.Ms. Welty will be on residence in Miami with The Fountainhead. She has exhibited her work at the Museum of Art Ft. Lauderdale Florida, the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln Massachusetts, the Drawing Center in New York City, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Barbara Krakow Gallery in Boston, and the Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York. This will be Ms. Welty’s first solo exhibition in Miami, Florida. Gallery Diet 174 NW 23 Street Miami, FL 33127 305.571.2288 www.gallerydiet.com
