Pecha Kucha: Global Cities: Night on computer animation, motion graphics, and programming

French Alliance. February 28, 2012. 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Next Tuesday at the French Alliance just west of downtown on Calle Ocho, Pecha Kucha Miami will feature six local speakers whose computer animation, motion graphics, and programming skills are nationally and internationally recognized. Everywhere Studio’s team of presenters is bond to impress with their national and international work for The Discovery Channel. Presenters include Diana Arrambide, Ian Cole + Adam Cole, Kenny Dayhoff, Sebastian Alvarez, Daniel Munoz and Arantxa Vaillant.

Pecha Kucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers and creatives to meet, network, and show their work in public. It has turned into a massive celebration with events happening in close to 500 cities around the world. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat,” it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.

Pecha Kucha Night Miami started in 2006 and has enjoyed spotlighting local talent by collaborating with Art Basel Miami Beach, Hospitality Design Expo, American Institute of Architects National Convention, The Wolfsonian-FIU, Fairchild Tropical Garden, The Bass Museum, Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, and now the French Alliance.
