Borscht Film Festival 2012 Commissioned Short Films and Guest Filmmakers

November 2012. The Borscht Corporation has selected the 16 short films it will commission, produce, and screen at the 2012 Borscht Film Festival from December 12 through 21. This year’s shorts include five additions to last year’s popular musician collaboration series, where filmmakers collaborated with or were inspired by local musicians, including the Jacuzzi Boys, Blowfly, Psychic Mirrors, and DJ Laz.

Cartier opens in the Miami Design District

August 2012. Cartier is one of the first new luxury tenants to open in the Miami Design District. The new Cartier boutique will have a 4,331-square-feet store, with just under 3,000-square-feet for retail space. $75,000 UBS Grant Allows Arts for Learning Miami to Pilot “ArtWorks”

July 2012. This summer, Arts for Learning (A4L) launched its newest initiative “ArtWorks” made possible through a recent $75,000.00 grant awarded by UBS, the global financial services firm. ArtWorks is a paid internship program in the arts for high school students who live in the surrounding neighborhoods of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, namely, Overtown, Wynwood, Little Haiti, and Liberty City.
