The Master Chorale of South Florida presents three light-hearted performances of songs by the famous duo Gilbert and Sullivan

Fri Apr 28 - Sun Apr 30, 2017

Featured will be memorable scenes and music from their famous comic operas The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, H.M.S. Pinafore and other Gilbert and Sullivan favorites.

These theatrical partners created fanciful “topsy-turvy” worlds for their operas where each absurdity is taken to its logical conclusion—fairies rub elbows with British lords, flirting is a capital offense, gondoliers ascend to the monarchy, and pirates emerge as noblemen who have gone astray – all accompanied by memorable melodies that could convey a wealth of humor and comic effect.

The appeal of Gilbert and Sullivan’s special blend of charm, silliness and gentle satire is enduring. If you love to have fun, enjoy comedy and laugh, these concerts are for you.
