Rosario Bond. From Nov 8th, 2008 through Feb 14th, 2009. Curator's Voice Art Project, led by Milagros Bello, presents a solo exhibition of paintings by Rosario Bond titled Lipstick on November 8th, 2008. Rosario Bond specializes in neo-expressionistic paintings made out with thick layers of impasto, in which figures, objects and nature intertwine in voracious and parodic relationships. Her most recent series show parodic icons, such rock stars, models, and other portraits represented through gestural brushstrokes and a bright and intense palette.
Her figurative approach is done through a humoristic stanza. She collects in her paintings personal mythologies combined with critical imagery over disrupted settings and dislocated compositions in which unusual and eerie objects appear. Her works is a monumental palimpsest of delirious and contrasting shapes that establish a radical dialogue with the Contemporary German neo-expressionists.
