Marina; A Spanish Opera in Three Acts. July 30th and August 1st, 2009. 8:00 p.m.


Miami Lyric Opera presents Marina, a Spanish opera in three acts set to music by composer Emilio Pascual Arrieta and lyrics by Francisco Camprodon, under the artistic direction of Raffaele Cardone. The cast will include Beverly Coulter, Maruchi Urquiaga, Aurelio Gabaldon, Hugo Marcos, Lilo del Campo, Diego Baner, Ismael Gonzalez and other fine artists. Alfredo Munar will conduct the MLO Orchestra and Pablo Hernandez will be Chorus master.

Last Friday of each month

Viernes Culturales / Cultural Fridays is an artistic and cultural fair that takes place on the last Friday of each month in the historic neighborhood, on 8th Street SW between 14th and 17th Avenues. A venue for local artists, artisans and entertainers, this monthly festival certainly offers an opportunity for visitors and tourists to experience an evening of culture with the diverse flavors of our Hispanic community. Expect outdoor musical performances on a stage and along the sidewalks of Calle Ocho, art exhibitions in plazas and open spaces, gallery visits, walking tours and special programs at the historic Tower Theatre. It all happen on SW 8th Street (Calle Ocho) between 13th and 17th Avenues. Have fun!
