Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

February 20 – 23, 2014

Come see what’s new in the Ailey repertory when the world’s most popular dance company returns to the Arsht for five performances only.

Artistic Director – and Miami native – Robert Battle has brought in “an impressive spectrum of works that push the company forward while keeping it firmly anchored in its celebrated past” (The New York Times).

Choose from one of three programs:

Thursday Evening February 20th and Saturday Evening February 22nd includes the premieres of Wayne McGregor’s dazzling contemporary ballet Chroma and Ronald K. Brown’s soulful modern dance Four Corners.

Friday Evening February 21st and Sunday Matinee February 23rd includes the premieres of Aszure Barton’s bold LIFT and Bill T. Jones’ joyous D-Man in the Waters (Part I).

Saturday Matinee February 22nd is an “Ailey/Ellington” bill that features new productions of favorite Ailey dances set to the music of jazz icon Duke Ellington. Stay after for a free Q&A with some of the dancers.

Mr. Ailey’s beloved masterpiece Revelations will close each performance.
