Miami-Dade County Auditorium. August 17, 2012. 8:00 p.m.

altArt Works for Us, a non-profit dedicated to community service and artistic excellence, presents their summer production entitled SOULÉ, which integrates contemporary Flamenco with soulful Rhythm and Blues in what promises to be an unforgettable evening. The production features Aire Dance Company under the artistic direction of Ana Miranda and live Flamenco fusion music by the Gypsy Cat band, under the musical direction of Carl Ferrari.

The one night only event, scheduled for August 17 at 8 p.m. at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium OnStage black box, is presented by Art Works For Us, with funding from Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs. SOULÉ will ignite the senses and inspire the soul with an international cast of 15 dancers and musicians as they explore the crossroads of Flamenco, American roots music and contemporary dance.

The performers include dancers Ana Miranda, Ana Bolt, Barny Espinal, Crystal Casas, Kat Fuenmayor, Maria Ines Serritella, and Pioneer Winter; musicians Carl Ferrari (guitarist), Andres Roa (drum set), Richard Rippe (bass) + guest artists; singers Juliet Maisha and Jaime Moreno and spoken word artist Marie Whitman. Miranda’s choreography fuses flamenco, contemporary dance and dance theater while Carl Ferrari weaves a musical score that explores connections between flamenco and soul/blues music.
