Grand Opening in Wynwood Art District November, 2006Pan American Art Gallery from Dallas, TX its opening a second space becoming Pan American Art Projects in Miami’s Wynwood Art District. Specializing in contemporary art of the Americas, Pan American Art Projects will continue its mission to build a bridge between North and South American cultures and to exhibit artists from both regions concurrently. The new 4,500 square foot space will feature two exhibition rooms, a video box, sculpture garden, and an apartment with a studio for visiting artists. The opening exhibition will feature León Ferrari and Oscar Bony, who will be presenting their works in Miami for the first time. León Ferrari has been most recently invited to the 27th Sao Paolo Biennial, which will commemorate his work with an important retrospective exhibition. Oscar Bony passed away in 2001, and is best known for his large-scale self-portraits that he riddles with 9mm pistol shots. Both artists were featured in the exhibition, Inverted Utopias, at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston in 2004 as well as in the Sotheby’s exhibition, Between Silence and Violence in 2003.
