Creative Visions 2009

Frost Art Museum. May 13th, 2009.  Frost Art Museum. Miami MuseumsMiami-Dade Country Commissioner Joe A. Martinez (District 11) and The Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum will host the sixth annual Creative Visions 2009 student art exhibition. The exhibition features talented artists from District 11 Miami-Dade County Public Schools, including elementary, middle and high school students. For the past six years, hundreds of school-aged children have participated in this unique arts competition.

Creative Visions, an annual juried exhibition held in May at the Frost Art Museum, was conceived in 2004 to highlight the artistic achievement of K-12 children in District 11. It also honors the M-DCPS art teachers who promote the visual arts in our community. Elementary, middle and high school students enter two and three-dimentional art work in this juried show. As part of this exhibition, a panel of judges chooses the winners who will receive scholarship awards. This annual exhibit is the product of a unique partnership among the Frost Art Museum, the office of Commissioner Joe A. Martinez (District 11), the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs Division of Life Skills-Art Education Program and M-DCPS.
