Back by popular demand, DNE returns to the Bass Museum of Art May 1 for Ekphrasistwo: More Art from Art, a migrating site-specific work as part of the Miami Dance Festival and kicking off Miami Museum Month. This unique dance and art experience is created by DNE Directors Diego Salterini and Hannah Baumgarten to resonate with the art and/or architecture, enhancing the experience of the audience by bringing to life the potency of the work through the art of movement and sound.
Last year’s presentation was met with critical and public acclaim and packed audiences into spaces throughout the museum and its beautiful grounds. Not only will the project be site-specific to the unique features of the facility, but it will also correlate directly to several of the exhibitions on view at this time. Each performance will include several separate and complete dance works, migrating through the museum, and will run approximately 60 minutes. Performances are free with museum admission ($8 for non members).
