A band of players emerges with a common goal – they are looking for a new place to call home. As their journey unfolds, we discover why they left their homelands to set out on this common quest. As they pull a wagon filled with props in order to communicate through performance, they begin a whimsical exploration of the essence of life itself and their place in the universal order.
deepFAKE is about what fun we can have unraveling layers of intrigue as we uncover truths. deepFAKE is about the limitations of our sensibilities and the depth of our understanding. But most of all, deepFAKE is about finding the humor in being human while juggling reality as we perceive it.
Devised Theatre is a genre of theatre that is carefully planned by creative collaboration among the artists involved. The theme of the piece may be inspired by an idea, poem or another work of art. The work may begin through movement, sound, improvisation or other imaginative means. Dialogue may be used or not. A script may be written or not. Many of the common elements of theatre, such as set, lighting, music, sound effects, multi-media, staging, makeup and costumes may be used, though sometimes in unconventional ways. All rules of engagement must be clarified in the beginning of the process so everyone knows the parameters for their creative involvement.
