Diana Lowenstein exhibits Dancing in the Spinning Top’s House

Feb 4 - Mar 24, 2017

Exhibition Dancing in the Spinning Top’s House by Cuban artist Humberto Diaz aims to turn the everyday familiar to strange. The artist establishes a constant exercise of looking into a mirror that changes or distorts reality, working in between the “real” and the “simulated”. For him, art is a point of view where the object is not an end in itself, but rather the illusion that it causes.

Humberto Diaz (b. 1975 in Cienfuegos, Cuba) Resides and works in Havana, he is graduated from Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA). He has exhibited at The Cornerstone, Liverpool Hope University. Liverpool, UK; Gallery Nina Menocal; Gallery knoerle&baettig Contemporary, Winterthur, Switzerland; CDAV, Havana, Cuba; The Bronx Museum and Andrew Freedman Home, New York, USA; among others.
