Later, we will focus on works such as Robert Indiana’s monumental sculpture LOVE. Standing both as a symbol of Indiana’s youth and as a message of universal peace and harmony, LOVE has truly become a cultural logo. We will be presenting another brilliant work by the same artist, One Indiana Square completed in 1970, a rare painting that reflects its author’s fascination with numbers.

Next, one of Victor Vasarely’s creations from his Denfert period which coincided with his production of drawings inspired by the tiled walls of the Denfert-Rochereau metro station in Paris, followed by Wassily Kandinsky’s Vom Halbkreis Hinauf, an exceptional work created in 1931 demonstrating the artist’s fascination with geometric forms. Works by Yves Tanguy, Alexander Calder, Norman Rockwell, Richard E. Miller and Henri Matisse among others will be part of this sale.

We will then move on to the Russian part of the sale. Russian art continues to be one of the fastest growing and most exciting areas of the international art market. The forthcoming Paintings and Sculptures auction includes many works by major contemporary Russian artists from the late 1950s to 2010.

The final part of the sale will be devoted to fine works from the Schools of Rouen and Barbizon and Belle Epoque and Modern painting, including works by Robert, Albert Lebourg, Charles, Jean, John Ferren, Loir, Edouard, Eugène Galien-Lalou, François Auguste Biard, Charles de Condamy, Paul Chocarne-Moreau, Jean Béraud, Dietz Edzard, Delphin Enjolras, Paul-Désiré Trouillebert and Victor Dupré.

The Art Deco and Design sale will not only seek to emanate and spread the works of these renowned artists, but also to celebrate and pay homage to the city of Miami’s unique character and reputation as being the American showcase of the Art Deco architectural style.
