KordaVision: A Cuban Revelation

At Frost Art Museum January 24th, 2007The Frost Art Museum starts the Wednesday After Hours Spring Film Series with a special screening of the widely-acclaimed film, KordaVision: A Cuban Revelation followed by a question and answer period with the director, Hector Cruz Sandoval on January 24th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The film screening and conversation with Sandoval will take place at Florida International University in room GC 140. KordaVision, an original graphic documentary of world renowned Cuban photographer Alberto Diaz “Korda,” features the photographs of Korda as well as other master contemporaries, such as Raul Corrales, Liborio Noval and Roberto Salas. The art-based documentary reflects the soul of the 1950’s and 60’s, including rare footage of Fidel Castro. Produced, written and directed by Hector Cruz Sandoval, this film has taken the international independent film community by storm, receiving the Best Documentary awards in HBO / New York International Latino Film Festival 2006, USA; Monterrey International Film Festival 2006, Mexico; Latin American Film Festival 2006, Netherlands; and the Merit Award in LASA Film Festival 2006, Puerto Rico.
