View of the Moore Space. Miami ArtThe Moore Space will announce a short list of eight finalists, all from Miami, for its Fall 2007 Berlin artist residency on September 8th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. This Fall, The Moore Space will cooperate with Berliner Kuntlerprogramm des DAAD, the renowned residency program in Berlin, who will evaluate the eight finalists and select one artist to participate in this year's program.

In 2006, The Moore Space established an informal residency program in Miami inviting international artists to spend a period of time living in Miami. This was made possible by an in kind donation of the use of an apartment in the Design District. This year, The Moore Space will expand this successful program by adding a reciprocal component whereby Miami artists will have the opportunity to work and live in Europe for a period of 2 – 3 months.

The Moore Space's artist residency program is an experimental platform for artists, allowing them to create new work and establish cultural exchanges with the international art community. Silvia Cubina, the Director of The Moore Space expressed: "This program is essential as it enriches our local arts community by exposing it to different cultures and ideas."
