Noa in Concert

May 5th, 2008. 8:30 p.m.Arsht Center for the Performing ArtsNoa, Israel's leading international concert and recording artist, sings her popular repertory of Hebrew and English songs at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts to mark the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel. Noa’s inimitable music is a winning blend of jazz, classical, rock, and ‘60s folk, distinctively flavored by her own Middle Eastern roots. For her Arsht Center debut, Noa takes center stage at the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall performing Hebrew, Yemenite Arabic, English and Spanish songs, as well as new songs from her upcoming album Genes and Jeans, set for release this spring.

Noa has performed duets with international music icons Sting and Stevie Wonder and has shared the stage with countless others, such as Carlos Santana, Sheryl Crow, Bono, Peter Gabriel, Ray Charles, Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Kathleen Battle, Andrea Bocelli, Joan Manuel Serrat and Miguel Bosé, to name just a few.

Headlining several globally influential concerts, such as Live 8 (2005) and the Sacred Music Festival in Morocco, Noa continues to bring together a vast and powerful audience, which has included prominent leaders from around the world such as Pope John Paul II, former President Bill Clinton, and former Israeli Prime Minister and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Yitzhak Rabin.

“A true global artist” according to Billboard Magazine, Noa has sold over one million copies of her current catalogue which includes three international and four Israeli album releases. Her songs have been heard on the soundtracks of major Hollywood films, such as Babel, Golden Eye, the Luc Besson film Joan of Arc and Oscar Award winner “Life is Beautiful.”

For her Arsht Center debut, Noa will sing vocals and play percussion with musical director Gil Dor on guitar, Jean Paul Zimbris on drums, and additional musicians on bass and keyboards.
