Pre-Columbian Art At The Frost Museum

On View Through August 31st

You can take a close-up look at artifacts over 2,000 years old in Shards of the Past: Pre-Columbian Art from the Frost Art Museum from May 7, 2014 through August 31, 2014.

The exhibition features 26 works: figures, vessels, bowls and plates from Peru, México, and Central America selected from the Frost Art Museum’s permanent collection.

Shards of the Past was created an conceptualized by students enrolled in the Museum Studies Graduate Certificate Program at Florida International University. This annual project gives students the opportunity to curate an exhibition from beginning to installation, applying their new skills. This year’s participants included Devon Rudolph, James Little, Jeremy Salloum, Traci Petersen, Miriam Alter, Nina Laguna, Eliza Gonzalez, Melanie Claros, Caitlin Maxcy, and Lorna Ruth Galloway. The program was directed by Museum Studies Coordinator Annette B. Fromm.

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm, Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, Closed Mondays
Admission: Free and open to the public
