Symposium Speaks: The Internet and Conceptual Art Films in Cannonball

In this Symposium Speaks event, filmmaker and multimedia artist Juan Carlos Zaldivar joins MFDP Program Manager Ronald Baez via Skype from L.A. to lead an in-depth discussion seeking to explore the concepts, structures, and exhibition design of a wide range of contemporary works, Baez and Zaldivar will lead an open discussion aimed towards understanding how the Internet may continue to be a significant tool for contemporary filmmakers, multi-media artists, and storytellers.

Juan Carlos Zaldívar completed both his BFA and MFA at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he has also taught as an adjunct faculty member. His film and video art have screened at many festivals worldwide and broadcasted on PBS, ABC, IFC, Showtime, and WE. He is a Sundance Film Institute alumnus and recipient of numerous grants and awards.
