Miniaci Center for the Performing Arts. June 12th, 2010. 8:00 p.m. Since 1994 when Nicholas Payton made his recording debut as a leader with From This Moment, the trumpeter has been lauded as a significant, top-tier voice in jazz.

Broward Center. June 22nd, 2010. 7:30 p.m. Matt Zarley made his Broadway debut, while still a teen, in A Chorus Line. He has also been featured in Cats, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and played the title roles in both Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Who’s Tommy… all Broadway.

Broward Center. August 25th, 2010. 8:00 p.m. AEG Live and Broward Center present singer/songwriter Natalie Merchant. Her career spans three decades – as the leader of 10,000 Maniacs and in her own solo work – of making warmly personal music.

Au-Rene Theater. August 31st, 2010. AEG Live and the Broward Center present one of the most successful bands in 1980’s Rock. Tears For Fears.

June 2010. Wendy White of the New Light Foundation, Inc.  and Vanessa Garcia of The Krane, Inc. present a special benefit staged reading of their newest production Two Islands consisting of two shows entitled Island Blogosphere and The Jewish Nun.

As stated on their website, the mission of the New World Symphony (NWS), “is to prepare highly-gifted graduates of distinguished music programs for leadership roles in orchestras and ensembles around the world.”

May 20th, 21st, 22nd, 2010. 7:30 p.m.May 23rd, 2010 2:00 p.m. High school students from New World School of the Arts Dance program will present their spring concert featuring a vast number of stirring choreographies, including Battlefield, an intense piece set to music by Les Tambours du Bronx by NWSA alum and Alvin Ailey Dance Company Artistic Director designate Robert Battle.

May 23th, 2010. 7:00 p.m. Back by popular demand, Grammy-winning guitar virtuoso Jonny Lang returns to the Parker Playhouse on Sunday, May 23 at 7 PM as part of his “Live by Request” tour, which allows local fans to log on to Jonny’s web site and request songs for him to perform at the concert.

The Waterfront Playhouse. May 19th, 2010 – May 26th, 2010. 8:00 p.m. This year’s series will feature staged readings of three original scripts from Key’s playwrights. “Going Again” by Bob Bowersox and “Fortune Cookie” by Mike Tomes will appear May 19th and “Poof” by Josh Kaplan will appear May 26th. Audience feedback to playwright, director and cast after each reading is desired.
