November 18, 2013 – February 14, 2014. The Miami Dade College (MDC) Galleries of Art + Design (GOAD), in conjunction with the college’s 2013 Miami Book Fair International, presents Havana Revisited: An Architectural Heritage, an exhibition created by Boston-based artist Cathryn Griffith.

Wolfsonian Museum-FIU. October 18, 2013, 7:00 p.m. Join New York-based architect and interior designer William T. Georgis , whose work Elle Decor describes as “uptown but impertinent”, for a free book signing and reception in The Wolfsonian’s café.

September 2013. More than three dozen new objects, along with two new special installations, are part of the recently updated Art and Design in the Modern Age: Selections from The Wolfsonian Collection (ADMA). The updated installation retains the exhibition’s core themes and overall structure while refreshing its graphic identity, refining the exhibition design, revising text panels, and introducing new material.

Through September 21, 2013. The Miami Dade College (MDC) Museum of Art + Design will present A Poetic Reality: Magical Realism of the CINTAS Fellows Collection. Stewards of the collection since 2011, the Museum is located within the College’s historic Freedom Tower and it is free and open to the public Wednesday to Sunday, from noon to 5:00 p.m. 

April 2013. Imagine a center that fostered peace by incorporating elements of different religions in one space. That’s what Miami Dade Colleges (MDC) architecture students did recently for eight weeks. The team won a competition sponsored by the Key Biscayne Community Foundation and Global Education Foundation in March.

March 2013. Drawing inspiration from Gaia, Greek goddess of the earth, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) interior design students from the School of Architecture and Interior Design created a porcelain tiled dress that won an award for “Most Historical” concept at the March 16 International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Design Mix show.

For the past five years, DawnTown’s annual design ideas competition has attracted designers from around the world to present new and creative possibilities for Miami.

The Miami Dade College (MDC) Museum of Art + Design (MOAD) presents Arnold Mesches: A Life’s Work, a major retrospective-style exhibition spanning 60 years of work by American painter Arnold Mesches. November 2012. Renovations have begun to the gallery’s building at 151 NW 24 Street, where the gallery has been located since 2000. When the gallery re-opens in February 2013, visitors will enter the new gallery space by walking through our adjacent lot into a new lobby on the east side of the building.
