Talented Exhibition by New World School of the Arts Offers Affordable Artwork to the Community

Opening reception: November 29, 2012, 5:30 p.m.
From November 30 through December 21, 2012.

Talented Exhibition, by New World School of the Arts high school and college visual arts alumni will make more than 100 works of art available to community to purchase at $25, $50, and $100. “The works, which vary in size and scope, offer something for everyone – from larger than life paintings to minute etches and drawings,” indicated Maggy Cuesta, dean of visual arts at NWSA.

“The funds generated from this effort will be utilized by the NWSA visual arts division to augment its scholarship coffers,” continued Cuesta. “In years past we have presented auctions of our alumni work and they has been very successful. This year, however, we are trying to make the work of our students available to a larger audience by offering it at an affordable set price.”

Many of the artists that will be showcased in Talented Exhibition have received critical and commercial success and currently exhibit their work in some of the world’s most prestigious galleries including New York Metropolitan Museum, Kemper Museum in Kansas City, MOCA, and MAM, while others have been selected to participate in the Whitney Biennial in New York or have been named among the top 25 U.S. trend setters in art by ARTnews Magazine 2007.

The work that is not sold during the opening reception will be available for purchase during the run of the exhibition, November 30 through December 21; Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sale is open to the public.
