The Miami Bach Society’s 25th Season

From Sep 21st 2008 through May 9th, 2009.  Miami Beach Bach Society. Miami MusicThe Miami Bach Society performs music of the greatest Baroque masters as well as works of other 17th and 18th century composers. These include Lully, Couperin, Charpentier, Vivaldi, Corelli, Händel, Telemann and the sons of Bach: Carl Philipp Emanuel, Johann Christian and George Friedman. It utilizes the talent of local artists from the faculty of the University of Miami, the New World Symphony, and what was the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. In its season concerts, the Bach Society also presents great musicians with national and international recognition.

Calendar of Events

Concert I. September 21st, 2008. 4:00 p.m. Temple Bet Breira. 9400 SW 87th Avenue in Miami. Bach’s Prelude: The Sacred Bridge. Music of Spain, France, England and Italy crossing sacred traditions Salamone Rossi, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Louis Saladin, Thomas Tomkins, John Blow featuring the University of Miami Collegium Musicum and Fra Angelico.

Concert II: October 26th, 2008. 4:00 p.m. First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables. 536 Coral Way, Coral Gables. Organ Recital, prize-winning local organist, Tom Schuster, will give a performance of early keyboard masterpieces.
 
Tropical Baroque Music Festival X:  March 1st through 9th, 2009. Concerts will take place at several venues in Coral Gables. For more information on dates, times and locations, please visit the festival's website.
