Tigertail: Concert by ukulele Master Jake Shimabukuro

Hawaiian Jake Shimabukuro is currently the world’s best known ukulele artist, primarily due to his 2006 YouTube cover of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” that went viral with over 13 million views. Tigertail’s Miami concert is part of a tour of over 40 cities in over 20 U.S. states as well as Japan.

Known for his energetic strumming on the ukulele, Jake Shimabukuro’s performance incorporates elements of thoughtful arrangements to improvised passages. He has combined the qualities of a long line of virtuoso ukulele players with modern rock musicians to create a sound that is unique but still grounded in Hawaiian tradition. Growing up in Hawaii, Jake’s influences include legendary ukulele players like Eddie Kamae, Ohta-San and Peter Moon.
