WDNA Jazz Gallery. Enrique Sendra's Mid-Air Negotiations

altThe Jazz Gallery at WDNA Radio Station is opening the exhibition Mid-Air Negotiations by Miami-based artist Enrique Sendra. The opening Reception takes place on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The entertainment will be by Cuban Music Quartet “Pan Con Bistec”, also beverages and Hors d’oeuvres will be served. WDNA members receive 50% off admission. Free Admission after September 25th. The closing reception will take place on Saturday Oct 16th, 2010 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Enrique Sendra was born in Havana, Cuba in 1982. As a young boy his passion for art was very evident. With the support and encouragement of his family and friends, he was able to develop his talent by attending workshops and creating relations with other artists who shared his enthusiasm for art. In 1999, Enrique enrolled in “Taller De Figueroa,” his first professional art school, where he was able to learn art in a more structured way. In 2000 at the age of 18, Enrique had his first solo exhibition in the Amelia Pélaez Gallery. That same year, Enrique pursued enrollment in “San Alejandro,” the most prestigious fine arts academy in Cuba. That process ended when Enrique immigrated to United States.

In the United States, Enrique has participated in numerous group and solo art exhibitions. In 2006 he became the apprentice of contemporary Cuban Artist David Rodríguez. Enrique’s work has been represented by galleries such as Vincent Gallery in Miami, Florida and Boswell Mourot Fine Art, in Little Rock Arkansas. Enrique has been recognized by several mayors and commissioners in Miami-Dade County; for his contribution in the Arts to the South Florida community, and he has received several honorary awards and commendations. Enrique has been featured as an inspiration to young people on local news channels, local newspapers, and magazines. Today, Enrique resides in Miami, Florida and continues to grow personally and professionally through his art.
