World Aids Day Art Exhibition

From Nov 26th through Dec 14th, 2008.  World Aids Day Art Exhibition. Miami ArtsMiami Beach Community Health Center’s "Through the Eyes of Love" in honor of World AIDS Day showcases a diverse collection of artworks symbolizing the depth of local artists’ thoughts and feelings as it relates to HIV / AIDS. This Miami and Fort Lauderdale admission-free exhibition also includes hundreds of panels from The NAMES Project Foundation-AIDS Memorial Quilt.

Miami Beach Community Health Center’s Through the Eyes of Love in honor of World AIDS Day takes place at the Harvey W. Seeds Post 29 American Legion in Miami (6445 NE 7th Avenue) from Dec 2nd through 14th in partnership with ArtCenter/South Florida and The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale (2414 E. Sunrise Blvd.) from Nov 26th through Dec 14th in partnership with ArtServe and ArtsUnited.
 
Opening receptions for Miami Beach Community Health Center’s Through the Eyes of Love take place at 6:00 p.m. on Nov 25th at The Galleria and at 6:00 p.m. on Dec.1st (World AIDS Day) at the Harvey W. Seeds Post 29 American Legion. During both receptions, select artists will receive cash prizes for their work.
 
This exhibition also includes innovative fashions that incorporate the red ribbon symbol and more as designed by students from the Miami International University of Art & Design and the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.  In addition, local youth will also offer their artistic interpretation of this health issue.
