Beethoven is back in a program by the Danish String Quartet

Saturday, April 14 at 8 p.m.

In this Beethoven program, the quartet will show the splendid span of music from this genre-defining composer from his early, middle and late periods. The program features Beethoven’s “String Quartet No. 3,” “String Quartet No. 7” and “String Quartet No. 14.”

With three Danes and one Norwegian cellist, this chamber music ensemble truly is a Scandinavian treasure. The high technical and musical quality, the pure joy of playing, the powerful impact the quartet makes on stage and the fresh approach to familiar repertoire have become a trademark for the Danish String Quartet.

In this presentation of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts 2017-2018 Classical Series curated by James Judd, Broward Center Arts Ambassador Lyn Farmer offers an Engaging the Senses pre-concert talk and tasting one hour prior to the concert that is complimentary to ticket holders and offers a well-rounded perspective of each concert program through visual art, architecture, literature and food and wine examples.
