Chopin Festival 2006-2007

Starting with a solo recital by Ben Kim November 4th and 5th, 2006The Chopin Foundation of the United States begins its 2006-2007 Chopin Festival Season presenting the 2006 Winner of the ARD Munich International Piano Competition, 23-year-old pianist Ben Kim. His first concert on November 4th, 2006 will take place at the Broward County Main in Ft. Lauderdale and on November 5th, 2006 at the Granada Presbyterian in Coral Gables. Ben Kim’s career has been accompanied by critical acclaim and numerous awards. It has taken him throughout the United States to such venues as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center; and to Austria, England, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, and the Far East. Praised for the warmth of his sound and his heartfelt earnestness, his playing has earned the attention of his legendary teacher and mentor, Leon Fleisher, who has proclaimed Ben’s potential for a first-class career.
