HELI. Miami Beach CInematheque

May 30th – June 11th. Miami Premiere Theatrical Engagement!

From the very first images, Heli exposes with brutal realism the undercurrent of modern Mexico’s most prevalent continuing problem, the war on drug trafficking. A young girl, herself involved in the necessary occupation of drug trafficker, falls in love for the first time with a police cadet who is also struggling to survive amidst the chaos of the predicament which has defined a nation. Can any beauty exist here? Despite the harrowing harshness of what surrounds it, the answer is left to the two young protagonists and the audience to decide. (In Spanish with English subtitles). Warning: This film contains extreme violence.
