Miami International Art Fair presents Five After Five

Jan 9th and 10th, 2010. 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Two honored musicians will take the stage together as part of the “Five After Five” promotion at the Miami International Art Fair (MIA), January 9th and 10th at the Miami Beach Convention Center. MIA is delighted to welcome Billboard award winner and Latin Grammy nominee Roberto Perera and Grammy nominee Bobby T for two special musical performances in conjunction with “Five After Five.” The Uruguay-native Perera is a master of the Paraguayan Harp, a 36-string traditional instrument that is also the national instrument of Paraguay.

Perera partners at MIA with Bobby T, who has carved out a niche as a renowned hand percussionist. Together they play a blend of rapidly improvising rhythms, creating a unique mix of music that is at once exotic, irresistible and uplifting.

The artists will perform together on Saturday and Sunday. Fairgoers are invited to sip cocktails in MIA’s Center Court while taking in the distinctive music.

“‘Five After Five’ will allow the public to get a taste of the fair experience for a reduced admission price,” said Lee Ann Lester, fair organizer. “We are pleased to welcome these two noted musicians to MIA to provide fairgoers with an artistic experience of a different kind. Their performances, coupled with ‘Five After Five,’ will attract a new, younger audience to the fair.”
