Miami Light Project presents 2011 Filmmakers Bootcamp Finale Screening

Jul 24, 2011.

Miami Light Project presents the culminating screening of films made by the talented teens who have taken part in our fourth annual Filmmakers Bootcamp summer program.

For two weeks, teenagers from all over Miami-Dade County have had the opportunity to learn how to write direct and produce their own films.

Created with the goal of giving disadvantaged youth the hands on opportunity to learn about the filmmaking industry, students are taught by professional filmmakers and given the knowledge equipment and tools to create their own short films. The camp is annually open to 20 Miami-Dade teenagers between the ages of 14-18. Thanks in part to funding from The Consequences Foundation, The Children’s Trust of Miami-Dade County and the Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, full scholarships, lunch and  transportation is made available to all students in need.

This invitation only event will allow the participants to showcase their newly honed skills for their families and community members. For more information call Miami Light Project or visit their website.
