Miami Light Project Presents Southeastern US Premiere Of Timur And The Dime Museum

Friday, April 18, 2014 at 8:00pm and Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 7:00pm

Two events, two concerts with the Los Angeles punk-opera-glam rock band at The Light Box.

Inspired by the bohemian vaudeville of the 20’s, glam mannerism of the 70’s, galactic fantasies of the 80’s, Timur and the Dime Museum’s shows blend genres and genders ranging from post-punk, electronic, industrial and operatic styles. Combining Timur’s “stratospheric voice” (quotes The Los Angeles Times) with guitar, bass, accordion, and drums, their live shows are filled with manic intensity. Displaying a full arsenal of vocals and thick orchestral textures, Timur and the Dime Museum’s performances tell stories of demented passions, global catastrophes and social orders.

On Friday, April 18, 2014 at 8:00pm, the first night of their Light Box residency, Timur and the Dime Museum’s will feature their latest program, Collapse. It is a post-ecological Requiem, envisioned as a sardonically theatrical mass service where different stories are refracted through the eclectic sound of the band and the post-punk voice of Timur.

On Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 7:00pm, the Timur and the Dime Museum Karaoke Spectacular will also serve as Miami Light Project’s annual fundraiser. In addition to the concert, tickets will include an after-party with food and open bar. As an added bonus, several lucky audience members will be invited to perform select karaoke songs with Timur and the Dime Museum as the backup band.

Admission: $20.00
