Miami Lyric Opera presents La Traviata

altAlexander Dumas’ Jr. famous novel and play “La Dame aux camellias” inspired Verdi to create one of the most beautiful and mostly represented opera worldwide. Violetta a high society prostitute find unexpectedly the true love in the young Alfredo to whom she fully dedicated her life escaping past lifestyle. That great love was forced to end by Alfredo’s father petition that influenced Violetta to leave Alfredo thus saving the family honor and reputation. Time later extremely sick and alone, Violetta dies in his beloved Alfredo’s arms now aware of her superior sacrifice done for their love.

This drama is full of melodies and passionate music that only Verdi’s gifted talent could immortalize for the enjoyment of past, present and future generations. Miami Lyric Opera’s La Traviata is interpreted by Susana Diaz, David Pereira, Nelson Martinez, Rebekah Diaz, Eddie Valdez, Jennifer Tipton, William Olson, Anthony Zoeller and other fine artists.
