New Theatre at the Roxy presents Agnes of God

From February 1 through 17, 2013.

New Theatre presents its second Mainstage Classic of the season, Agnes of God by John Pielmeier. In this psychological drama, which was a Broadway hit and later made into a film, a court-appointed psychiatrist is charged with the task of assessing the sanity of a novice nun (Agnes) accused of murdering her newborn. However, the Mother Superior keeps young Agnes from the doctor, arousing the doctor’s suspicions further. Who killed the infant and who fathered the tiny victim?

These questions force all three women to re-examine the meaning of faith and the power of love. Directed by Artistic Director Ricky J. Martinez and featuring New Theatre veterans Barbara Sloan, Christina Groom and Pamela Roza.

Performances are Thursday – Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m. with 5:30 performances on February 10 and 17. Tickets are $35 – $40, Students (under 25 with ID) $15.
