Paragon 13 Coconut Grove. November 26, 2012. 7:00 p.m.

Nochebuena, a short comedic film celebrating Cuban Christmas in Hialeah, is set to premiere at the 11th Annual Miami Shorts Film Festival. The film was directed by Bryan Lorenzo and stars a talented ensemble cast led by stage and screen actor Mario Ernesto Sanchez. The short also features Marcela Paguaga, Eric Anderson, Carolina Insua, Mindy Acevedo, Oliver Herrero, Guadalupe Hernandez, and former Hialeah City Councilman, Jose “Pepe” Yedra.

The film was co-written by Bryan Lorenzo and MWCC Creative Director Jose Luis Martinez. A young group of emerging producers led the charge to make the film a reality including Brooke Bortell, Oscar Ruso and Rashaud Michel. The film was executive produced by the Miami World Cinema Center, the first nonprofit film studio in Miami, whose mission is to develop and support creative talent while facilitating the growth of local job opportunities and production resources within the local film industry. For more than 10 years, the Miami Short Film Festival has been the launching point for original scripts, new cinematography and film techniques, innovative perspectives, and unique forms of true emotion and expression captured on film.

Nochebuena will premiere on Monday November 26, along with six other short films, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., at Paragon 13, in Coconut Grove. For tickets visit, msfflocal.eventbrite.com
