Fridays and Saturdays, May 9/10 and May 16/17, 2014 Dance Now! Miami presents Into The Heat, a series of original ballets including the Light Rain Pas De Deux (from Gerald Aprino of the Joffrey Ballet), Oceanica and other original works in a sultry lineup of contemporary dance.

May 15th, 2014 – Friday, May 16th, 2014, 8:00pm Dance artists from Karen Peterson and Dancers, the Southeast’s Premiere Mixed – Ability Company, come together with the video arts in an intimate setting.

Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. As part of the Miami Dance Festival Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, the Miami-based international dance company, is pleased to announce the world premiere performance of Ritmo y Pasion. Performing this pure Flamenco work are artists from the U.S, Latin America and Spain guided by the choreography of Artistic Director Ilisa Rosal.

April 24th, 25th and 26th, 7:30 p.m. – Sunday, April 27th, 2:00 p.m. The concert will present six dances in a variety of styles and moods, including the driving dance Rush Hour, choreographed by guest artist and Artistic Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Company

May 3rd, Aventura Arts & Cultural CenterSunday May 4th, Broward Center for the Performing Arts With a magnificent and colorful spectacle that combines classical and neoclassical ballet, the Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, conducted by Maestro Vladimir Issaev, closes its sixteenth season, next May 3rd and 4th at the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

January 31st, February 1st and 2nd, 2014 Ballet Flamenco La Rosa premieres on January 31, February 1 and 2, 2014 at the Koubek Center, an original flamenco ballet inspired by August Strindberg’s famous play, “Señorita Julia” with guest artists from Spain, accompanied by the dancers and musicians of Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, directed by Ilisa Rosal.

Miami brings “Light Rain”, a seminal work of the Joffrey Ballet to life at the Colony theatre alongside Diego Salterini’s “OCEANICA” and Hannah Baumgarten’s “Water’s Edge, the Long Walk” to complete “IL MARE” the company’s ambitious 18-month project of water themed works.

September 7, 2013, 8:00 p.m. & September 8, 2013, 5:00 p.m. Orishas is a dance-theater performance by New York-based artist Yesenia Selier and her troupe, inspired in the traditions of the female orishas of the Yoruba people of Nigeria, the ancestors of Cuba’s Afro-descendant population. Orishas uses dance, music and tradition to reflect on the struggles and circumstances of women today.
