Into The Heat: A Ballet Presented By Dance Now! Miami At SDMCAC

Fridays and Saturdays, May 9/10 and May 16/17, 2014

Dance Now! Miami presents Into The Heat, a series of original ballets including the Light Rain Pas De Deux (from Gerald Aprino of the Joffrey Ballet), Oceanica and other original works in a sultry lineup of contemporary dance.
Dance Now! Miami, in residence at Miami’s Little Haiti Cultural Center, was founded on Miami Beach in 2000 by Diego Salterini and Hannah Baumgarten. As creative collaborators, their work bridges diverse backgrounds in ballet, modern dance and jazz, creating poetic narrative and theatrical artistry filled with fierce athleticism, featuring world-class performers and collaborators.

Includes free workshops on May 10th and 17th

EDUCATION
Dance Now! has a long standing commitment to Arts Education reaching over 10,000 children in the past 15 years through a variety of programs including DIP – Dance In Public Schools program and educational performances at the Little Haiti Cultural Center as part of the Cultural Passport program. The Dance NOW! – Little Haiti summer dance intensive offers classes in classical and Folkloric dance; 75% of the students receive partial or full scholarship. Dance NOW!’s apprenticeship program provides mentoring and performance opportunities for highly talented youth.
