One of India’s reigning cultural ambassadors, Zakir Hussain has elevated the status of the tabla, a centuries-old instrument consisting of two hand drums, famously played by his father, Alla Rakha. After mastering classical music, Hussain went on to collaborate with the Grateful Dead and other artists. Accompanied by flautist Rakesh Chaurasia, the virtuoso percussionist is globally known for breathtaking performances that showcase both his intuition and masterful dexterity.
