Miami ArtsThe Wolfsonian Museum presents its ongoing documentary film series titled Cinema 2 at the Wolf organized in collaboration with WPBT – Channel 2. These evenings of screenings are free and open to the public starting at 7:00 p.m. On June 20th, 2008, Cinema 2 at the Wolf presents Zora Neale Hurston, Jump at the Sun from the series American Masters (2008, USA, Kristy Anderson, 90 min, b&w and color, DVD).

Writer, cultural anthropologist, chronicler of folk roots and ethnic traditions, daughter of former slaves, Hurston was one of the most celebrated – and most controversial – figures of the Harlem Renaissance, the creatively expansive era in the 1920s when “the Negro was in vogue.”
