25th ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival

From Feb 13th through 15th, 2010.

Celebrating 25 years in Palm Beach County, the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival, is the premier fine art show of the Palm Beaches. ArtiGras showcases a unique juried exhibition of nearly 300 fine artists from all over the country. The three-day event also features interactive art exhibits, live music, and demonstrations that provide an arts experience like no other in South Florida. ArtiGras is produced by the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce and benefits school art programs and local charities.

To help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of ArtiGras, the festival will open with a special ribbon cutting on Saturday, February 13th at 10 a.m. at the Main Gate located at University Drive and Edna Hibel Way. Past chairs and local elected officials will be on hand at the ribbon cutting. In addition, Lilly Pulitzer, who is this year’s Honorary Chair, designed a special print that will be used on the ArtiGras marketing materials and volunteer shirts.

For the fourth year in a row, ArtiGras is supporting a program for Emerging Artists called “Homegrown Art”. This program is an innovative and resourceful tool that mentors emerging artists, who reside within 200 miles of the show grounds, and teaches them the process of exhibiting. Artists in Homegrown Art have not established a record as a professional artist by showing their work in museums, art centers, major galleries or juried outdoor art exhibitions. In addition, Homegrown Artists must not have more than 25% of their total annual income derived from the sale of their artwork and must not be licensed professionally as a visual artist.

Learn how artists apply their outstanding skills to create art in various media throughout the festival. Demonstrations are on the hour every day with artists from the Lighthouse Center for the Arts, Armory Arts Center and participating ArtiGras artists from around the country. In addition, varied musical entertainment will be featured on the Main Stage throughout the day including jazz, R&B, and island music. The Main Stage is located in the Food Court on University Boulevard.
