Americas Society is pleased to present the C4 Trio in Miami in collaboration with the Rhythm Foundation. The trio unites virtuosos of the cuatro, an instrument typical of Venezuelan folk music, combining traditional music with contemporary elements to create a vibrant sound.

“This music would be very different on a guitar,” says Director of Music at the Americas Society, “C4 Trio’s sound is unique in the way they use a traditional, almost ‘sacred’ instrument in music that incorporates new harmonies and rhythms and the open spirit of jazz.”

Jorge Glem, Héctor Molina, and Edward Ramírez founded the group after they performed individually in 2005 at the main international cuatro festival in Caracas. They were joined by bassist Rodner Padilla in 2009. C4 Trio has released two CDs that both went double gold. They have collaborated with leading Venezuelan musicians including Aquiles Báez, Serenata Guayanesa, and Roberto Koch and performed in Brazil, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Tickets are free for Americas Society members; $20 for nonmembers and can be purchased on Ticketmaster or at the box office of the Colony Theatre.
