CCE Miami Macro Directors for Microtheater: Carlos Diaz

The project Macro Directors for Microtheater will experiment with theatrical formats by inviting renowned theater directors to produce plays in the center’s microtheatres, located in shipping containers, where each 15-minute piece is part of a larger story that audience members can see in any order. This is the third KACM grant awarded to CCEMiami since 2012.

Macro Directors will be divided into two seasons. The first one directed by Carlos Diaz adaptation of Henry Ibsen’s play Peer Gynt to Microtheater’s format and will run through May 20th. The text has been written by Carlos Diaz is a Cuban actor and theatre director that holds the 2016 National Theater Award of Cuba. He founded the company Teatro El Público in 1992. Teatro el Público was one of the five leading theater companies in the world chosen to be part of Kennedy Center outstanding 2016–2017 theater season.
