EXILE Books is thrilled to announce its new Little Haiti storefront location, 5900 NW 2nd Ave between NW 59th Street and NW 59th Terrace. After three years in our cozy Wynwood studio, we can’t wait to share EXILE Books with the community of Little Haiti. Neighboring Emerson Dorsch art gallery, the space will be home to EXILE’s offices and include a public storefront showcasing a curated selection of artist’s books, zines, and print projects accompanied by a rotating display of concrete and visual poetry from Miami’s own Sackner Archive. Moreover, the new location will also host a variety of free monthly gatherings and events including lectures, workshops, performances, panel discussions, and design consultations.

Additionally, we are proud to share that EXILE has recently received $30,000 in support from Metabolic Studio. This generous contribution will supplement general operating and programming support, allowing EXILE to further establish a pervasive print culture in Miami and celebrate independent publishing throughout our diverse community. EXILE Books works to fulfill its mission through programming and initiatives that connect wide audiences to local artists, printmakers, and publishers and provide an open platform for creative expression and exchange.

About Metabolic Studio: Derived from the Greek word for change, “metabolism” is the process that maintains life. In continuous cycles of creation and destruction, metabolism transforms nutrients into energy and matter. Lauren Bon’s studio practice includes a team of individuals that work together across a range of investigative platforms, transforming resources into energy, actions and outcomes.
