FUNDarte’ Out in the Tropics 2016: Double bill of cutting-edge flamenco

Jun 18, 2016, 8:30PM

Now in its seventh edition FUNDarte’s Out in the Tropics performance series will feature artists who address gender, sexuality and issues of interest to the art community and their allies.

Bailografía by Juan Carlos Lerida & Romnia by Belén Maya will be part of this Double bill flamenco night. In “Bailografia” Juan Carlos Lerdia offers a work composed by looking back at its own trajectory, with a natural revision imposed by the passing of time. Each time it is performed, a guest artist will be invited to take part in this danced biography. In the other hand Romnia is a celebration of Gypsyness, without victimization. Belen Maya presents a retro-progressive artistic exercise where her movements –her roots and her wings- are simultaneously going back to the beginnings and towards the future.
