Macon City: A Comic Book Play at the Naked Stage

From Nov 13th through 29th, 2009.

The Naked Stage presents Macon City: A Comic Book Play written by Marco Ramirez. This imaginative, new play from the 2-time Heideman award-winning author of Broadsword and Mr. Beast is set in a fictitious American Metropolis, Macon City chronicles the lives of several local denizens as they struggling to survive in a decaying city, long-since abandoned by the Defenders, a super-powered team of crime-fighters.

Subtitled A Comic Book Play, Macon City is perfectly suited for the intimate setting of the Pelican Theatre; a 43-seat proscenium theatre located on the campus of Barry University that The Naked Stage is proud to call home. You won’t want to miss as the Naked Stage takes on the unique challenge of bringing a graphic novel to life. With Ramirez’ distinctive, urban-inspired poetry and Naked Stage’s critically lauded design team, Macon City promises to be one of the most exciting productions of the season.

Macon City: A Comic Book Play stars David Hempill, Hugh Murphy, Scott Genn, Alyn Darnay and Jasmine Fluker and is directed by John Manzelli. Set, sound & lights are designed by the Naked Stage, with costumes by Leslye Menshouse.
