Powder Monkey, Miami's Own Rock Band, debuts at the Performing Arts Network

January 12, 2013. 9:00 p.m.

Performing Arts Network presents The Powder Monkey EP Release Show on Saturday, January 12 from 9:00pm – midnight. The live performance of the Miami based rock band will be the first of a dynamic slate of events that are going to take place at PAN’s beautiful new venue in 2013.

Powder Monkey is an American rock band that formed up in early 2012. The band members are guitarist/singer Jacob George, bassist/keyboardist Seth Shulman, guitarist Theo DeFreze, and drummer Yitzi Peetluk. The original three members became friends and played in bands together in their hometown Miami, Florida, where they played at many local venues and quickly developed a following. While attending Berklee College of music they met their fourth member, whose matchless drumming completed the group and formed what is now Powder Monkey.

The band conjures up driving rock and roll through their crystalline sounds, jackhammer grooves, and fat guitar riffs. Powder Monkey will be recording their concert at PAN and will release it as their live EP to fans shortly after the concert.

The event will take place at PAN’s newly renovated facility in North Miami. The Powder Monkey’s EP Release Show with the special guest Ex Norwegian band starts at 9:00 p.m. Each ticket comes with a free EP and can be bought in advance for $6 and at the door for $8.
